Never-ending

I hope if you read this post that you'll leave me a response. I'm curious to see how often other people do it. Laundry! It is never ending in my house. I do at least (and that's the very least) two loads of laundry a day. I do laundry every day. And of course, its not just the washing and drying but the folding and putting away. I have to admit that I'm not one of those people who will fold or hang their laundry right out of the dryer. I wish I was- I just never seem to have the time right that minute. I have just a regular washer and dryer and to dry a load of clothes I have to run the load at least two times. Some of my friends have the fancy front load washer and dryers and have been telling me that would cut my drying time in half. I know they are nice and I'm certain they work better than my basic set but I have a hard time letting go of that kind of money for a washer and dryer.
So, here are my questions...
  1. How often do you do laundry?
  2. Do you fold or hang your laundry right out of the dryer?
  3. If you have the fancy front load washer and dryer- what do you love about it compared to the basic set?

Um....well did you see my laundry pile picture I posted a few months ago. That should answer it for me! :)
I try to do a few loads a week. When I do I take them upstairs and fold right away and try to get everything put away. I do not have the fancy schmancy front loaders....maybe my net set...

OK, since that guy came out and fixed our washer and showed us how to blow the hose out to clean it out my clothes are dry in ONE cycle! And I mean even the really wet towels and sheets that I think there is NO WAY they would dry. I can show you how to do that if you want. It might make a difference.

And yes, I do laundry every day.

I aim to put one load in every morning as part of the routine of getting up. It doesn't always happen that way though. I do not fold and hang right out of the dryer unless it is something easy like all towels. I also try to wash the girls clothes in groupings like all the pajamas, shorts, and t-shirts together because they all get folded and put in drawers in the same dresser. I don't like mixing socks, underwear and hanging stuff in and I try not to wash their clothes with ours. That way at least the pile of clean stuff all goes in the same room. Maybe I'm just weird. I also think that even if you don't have a fancy schmancy dryer, you shouldn't have to run the cycle twice.

What a topic! :) You know my saying...today ends in "y" so I must be doing laundry. I will admit to being OCD with my laundry. I separate into many different loads. It depends if I am home to wash my permanent press since many of my pants are hang to dry, and if I leave them in the washer, they're ooky. I do sort right out of the dryer because I am too lazy to iron. I can't tell that the front loader washer set is that much better, really, but I do like the dewrinkle on the dryer, so I can refresh the clothes and again, keep from ironing. You should definitely not have to dry two times. Do you think you are overloading your loads? Do you need to borrow that lint contraption? That might help too.

Jonathan does the laundry...seriously! It's a LONG story, but before we married, I told him I just couldn't do it anymore and he agreed to take on the challenge. I will help out, but he mainly does it and actually enjoys it. We do at least 3-4 loads daily. Oh, and we replaced our 10 year old washer with a new front loader when it went out. We'll replace the dryer with a front loader when it goes out as well. LOVE the washer, but it holds so much that sometimes we have to split it into two loads to dry!

We have had our washer/dryer for about 12 years. The washer is starting to make noise so we may be replacing soon. They are both Frigidaires and have been the best I have ever owned. When the children were younger, I washed 4-6 loads a week. I washed their clothes together and then Phillip's and mine together. I tried to do the washing two days in a row to get it all done pretty much at once. My washing clothes is wonderful now. When it is just me and Brett I may wash a couple of loads every 10 days. When Phillip is home I have to do a bit more. The only thing I have to wash real often now is all of Brett's baseball stuff during his high school season. That's not real pleasant!

Ron does the laundry. I know, I know...I'm lucky right? Truth is..I'm just really bad at it and he is picky about how it is done so years ago he started doing it. We just spent our tax refund on front loaders (washer and dryer). I'll just quote Ron.."I feel like I have hours of my life back." We love them (I do help out from time to time). They make this chore seem easy and well... not a chore. And yes, he hangs/folds clothes right out of the dryer. Is there another way? HeHe.

When I have to... my kids have A LOT of clothes, so usually 3x a week...
Do you fold or hang your laundry right out of the dryer?
Heck no... I have an endless pile of clean clothes waiting for me at all times.
If you have the fancy front load washer and dryer- what do you love about it compared to the basic set?
I have a front load washer... I can fit more into it than my old one, there's no agitator which wears clothes out faster, AND I can set things on top of the washer since I don't put things in through the top. Yep, I love it! AND I got it on clearance! woooohooo

I do laundry every couple of days but it is usually at least 4 loads or so (still was the baby's clothes seperately). I usually waste energy b/c I do not get them out of the dryer right away and have to run the drier again and sometimes I have to re-wash clothes b/c I forgot about them. We have the basic washer and dryer. I am okay with laundry sometimes but I forget about it often (mommy brain!).

I try not to do laundry as often as I can:) I end up washing the boys clothes on Sunday afternoons and Ben usually does all the other clothes. I am the worst about taking the clothes out of the dryer, putting them in a basket, and then forgetting about them for as long as I can (usually until I need an empty basket:)). We just have the basic washer and dryer. Maybe one day we will upgrade but I don't see that day in the near future:)

1. at least every other day
2. on occassion. but, I've been known to forget something in the washer only to be reminded it's there when the room starts to smell a little funny. And, I've also been known to have to iron t-shirts because I left them wadded up in the dryer too long.
3. I wish I had one of those!
